Time Well Spent
In the past 8 weeks I have
learned a lot about what I want to do with my career and about myself.
I have always known I was
meant to be in the early childhood field, working with children. But through this course I discovered my passion
within early childhood development is the pursuit of giving children the
opportunity to learn good social and emotional skills.
I am planning to pursue my
goal to teach early childhood courses at the college I currently teach
preschool at. As well as continue my
efforts to get a social emotional training program at my school. I am hoping I can have this program approved
and going by summer 2014.
And we are starting
parenting classes at my school in January through the agency that teaches
dinosaur school. I plan to help with
that program.
Finally, I learned that I
am not a writer. I love reading research
and other articles about early childhood, I could read all day, but writing
papers is definitely not on my list of strengths! I guess I will have to make sure I include a
proficient writer in my community of practice.
It has been a very
rewarding journey and I thank Dr. Teri for challenging me and my classmates for
encouraging and supporting me through the past eight weeks.
Good luck to you all in
your endeavors.
